Jo-an Ng

Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Coach

Jo-an believes that everyone is doing the best they can, given what they know and understand. With foundational training in psychology, psychotherapy and counselling, Jo-an is an attachment-focused EMDR practitioner and has a decade of clinical experience in mental health. She is also trained in other therapy modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behaviour therapy(CBT), Eriksonian hypnosis and others.

She places emphasis on the role of emotion regulation at the core of her practice and moves towards working through internal barriers and traumatic experiences to support her clients in living more fully and authentically. She specialises in stress, adjustment, attachment disorders, depression, anxiety, insomnia and traumatic experiences. Jo-an feels deeply that it is a privilege to hold space for her clients to explore and integrate within.

Acknowledging the wisdom of the body and witnessing how working with the body brings about benefits to one’s well-being, Jo-an also received her yoga teacher training in 2015 and continues to be amazed by teachings and philosophies of yoga and body-based works. She strives to integrate psychological and clinical knowledge of the mind and body and infuse these wisdom into her teaching and counselling practice.
