Sandhya Aswani
Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Sandhya is a dedicated social impact professional with over a decade of experience working in people and community development. As a trained counsellor and psychotherapist, she believes everyone should have access to quality mental health services, and opportunities to connect and express themselves – be it through art, play, movement or others.
Having been through her own journey with mental health and chronic illness, Sandhya wants clients to know that they are not alone and to feel empowered to work through their challenges and create the life they want for themselves. We all need a little support sometimes. Life can be messy and overwhelming with so much on our plate. It helps to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective, to have someone hear you out, or to simply have some company along the way.
While she is trained in a number of approaches, Sandhya mostly draws on techniques from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy in her sessions. She is also trained in trauma modalities and couples therapy.
Outside of counselling, Sandhya works with several non-profit organisations dedicated to families, children and youth, and differently-abled communities.
